Tools and Techniques

I use tools and techniques based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based psychological therapy that works by gaining understanding of and making changes to unhelpful thoughts and behaviours which negatively impact on a person’s mood.  Scientific research has shown CBT to be an effective treatment for a number of common difficulties, such as managing stress, depression and anxiety disorders.

A Collaborative Approach

My Professional Background

I hold a First Class BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology from the University of East Anglia/City College Norwich and a BPS accredited Post Graduate Certificate (with Merit) in Psychological Practice from the University of Exeter.  I have four years’ experience working as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) within demanding NHS Mental Health Trusts in Colchester and Norwich where I provided treatment to people experiencing common mental health problems such as depression and anxiety disorders.
